Why is Anna Nicole Smith’s mother suing for custody of a child that she doesn’t want to raise?

I always thought she was suing so she could raise Dannie Lynn. But I just heard now that she doesn’t want to raise Dannie Lynn but wants Larry Birkhead to raise her. Do her and Larry Shithead have a deal that if he helps her, then he’ll give her a cut of the money that Dannie Lynn inherits?
Virgie Arthur, the mother of Anna Nicole Smith, has slammed reports she wants custody of her granddaughter–she just wants the baby to be raised by her real father.
Arthur, who flew to her daughter’s home in the Bahamas on Friday to check on the welfare of five-month-old Dannielynn, has hit back at Smith’s companion Howard K. Stern for denying her access to the baby.
And the former policewoman insists the baby’s real father is photographer Larry Birkhead.
She tells Good Morning America, “(Stern) won’t talk to me. I saw him on TV and he said, ‘You’ll never see her (Dannielynn) as long as I’m alive.’
“I think Larry Birkhead is the father. I don’t have a problem with (Dannielynn) being with Larry Birkhead; I do have a problem with her being with Howard Stern.”
Arthur, who was estranged from her daughter, insists she doesn’t want custody of the baby, she just wants to make sure she is properly looked after.
She adds, “I don’t want possession of her; I want to know if she’s in a safe place. I want them to do a DNA test and I want her to be put with her father.”
Arthur denies reports she’s interested in the millions of dollars her granddaughter could possibly inherit, adding, “The money has nothing to do with that baby.
“If Howard wants the money, give him the money. Just give us the baby.”
Smith died on Thursday after being found unconscious in her suite and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. . . . . .Source: Post Chronicle

Her mother was a policewoman, she has a few morals, I agree with her , let the real father have the baby, we all know it ain’t Stern, he just wants the money. INVESTIGATE THAT SCUMBAG! Where is he from? When did he ever work as an attorney? He is the leech that has sucked off ANS for years, and he probably supplied all the dope!

Virgie realizes that Birkhead is the only nornal person in this saga and will give this child a normal life. Anna was too hard headed to listen to her Mom about the lifestyle she was leading and thus Anna said “I hate my Mom”……MOM WAS RIGHT.

not..i really dont agree with you guys..lets jst say in this scenario..that Howard K. Stern is not the father of Dannie Lynn..that does not mean that Dannie Lynn can’t be in his care.. i think anna nicole smith puted him on the birth certificate as the father for a reason..even if his not the dad..it doesnt matter…he was with her through her pregnancy, birth of her child and even after her death. Dannie Lynn is the only thing thats left to remind him of anna..i think that its really sad..no one noes what kind of grief his going through atm..the pain is soo unbearable to even think about it..well if u guys think its for the money..to me i seriously don’t think so…and for her MOM..shes jst in it for the money…they havent sopken for yrs and after shes dead…she wants the body all of a sudden..doesnt something smell fishy bout her?..
wells thats my thoughts about this case….her mums a gold digger..and i feel deeply sorry for Dannie lynn atm..jst lost her sibling and her only mother..and shes not even one year old yet..shes so innocent/..poor child..may ur mom and brother be with you and guide you through life

Why is it so hard for people to see the truth? Geezzz… I can answer that one…..Virgie’s ass has caused an eclipse. People behind her are in the dark, only hearing an occasional beep as she backs up. Im so sick of this woman. How sad is it that SPLASH has given her all of these benefits to cause such chaos. and how sad is it that a mother could go along with this. She has no real emotion toward her daughter. Revenge is a dish better served cold. She isn’t just getting one last slap in on her daughter, she might as well be slapping Dannielynn. How sad now to look back on Anna’s videos of her hatred toward Virgie. No wonder she didnt want that woman near her baby girl.

From my viewpoint, I’d say that something serious must have happened to Anna Nichole when she was growing up in order for her to escape the trappings of her life with her mom and siblings. One doesn’t just flee from one’s nest and take up the type of lifestyle that she did unless something negative happened. Since she became an exploited icon in the celebrity world, there have been stories of drugs, booze, men and bawdy behavior. Men had used her for whatever they could get. She was a meal ticket to many. In the privacy of her own thoughts, she must have thought so little of herself to become a glorified tramp. She aspired to be like Marilyn Monroe. Well, now she is.
As for the people fighting for the baby, why, goodness, they are following the cash. He who has the baby has control of the money. Simple as that! Money! That’s what it’s all about!

Thats B.S that “Something” must have happened. I had a bad childhood,my mom left and I was raised by my wonderful father.I didn’t become a stripper, a playboy model or a druggie. Thats all a cop out for not using your head. Oh I did leave home early and worked & supported myself and with RESPECTABLE jobs.Virgie has a respectable job. Give her some credit. You need to think this out. I liked ANS but my husband had a very low opinion of her as a tramp,gold digging drug addict so ….hmmmm think about that awhile.
