Fired for eating a chicken nugget.

Cafe worker Rebecca Andrews was sacked for nibbling a chicken nugget destined for the bin.

The grub was going spare after a colleague cooked one too many.

Rebecca, 22, took a bite as she went to throw it away.

But a boss spotted her — and she was suspended from her £250-a-week job before being fired.

Rebecca said: “A customer had ordered chicken nuggets, and the rule is you get four.

“Five were cooked by accident so I took one out. As I walked to the back of the cafe to toss it away I subconsciously took a nibble. Loads of people do it.”

Rebecca has also been banned from the Morrisons superstore in Gosport, Hants, where she worked for four years.

Morrisons stood by its decision last night, saying staff were not allowed to eat or drink while working with food.
